The Sales Training Manager is primarily responsible for the successful development, delivery and management of customized training programs for each assigned contract. The candidate is the primary training contact/liaison for the assigned training client and is an integral component of all client negotiations with regards to training objectives, expectations, program development and execution.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
(Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following)
•    Prepare all required training materials and/or home study materials necessary for initial and follow-up training classes
•    Oversee the effective implementation of all training programs to ensure execution and skill development
•    Interface with field sales management and all internal support teams to drive client results and satisfaction
•    Create and maintain a workable Training Plan to determine the goals, strategies and tactics to be implemented to achieve client satisfaction
•    Work with Director and sales management to institute specific metrics and measurements to assess the success of training activities
•    Learn new disease state materials and be prepared to implement training of these materials in a timely fashion
•    Manage classroom environment in a manner that allows representatives to meet learning objectives
•    Coach representatives during training classes and in evening sessions
•    Ride in the field with representatives providing coaching on product and selling skills
•    Evaluate the competency levels of training class participants providing detailed evaluations and feedback in a timely manner
•    Work with sales management to formulate a representative development plan
•    Support sales management team by providing training materials, workshops and/or facilitation support at National, Sales, and POA meetings
•    Conduct training Needs Analysis through field training visits
 
EXPERIENCE:
•    3+ years of sales/business to business experience
•    1.5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
•    Experience delivering training to a variety of audiences in a corporate setting
•    Preferred experience selling and/or training in the Immunology space with a strong preference for Oncology experience.  
•    Additionally managed care experience, reimbursement and clinical expertise desired, as well as a strong understanding of Specialty Pharmacy.

 

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required
Advanced education in science, business, instructional design, or education (MBA, PhD, MA, RN, M.D) preferred

  • Facilitation skills
  • Candidates need to command a strong classroom presence, understand the pharmaceutical industry, and display the ability to convert concepts, skills, and knowledge into a learning context for participants
  • Ability to provide references of previous work relating to training delivery
  • Project management abilities

COMPETENCIES:

  • Adept at learning new technical, clinical, and medical product  and disease state knowledge
  • Proven training and group facilitation expertise
  • Flexibility to work around multiple projects and client schedules
  • Willingness to travel and overnight availability
  • Working knowledge of sound Instructional design
  • Program/seminar design capabilities
