The role will be responsible for demand planning for the EM business and will work closely with the sales & marketing, Supply Chain teams, and other cross functional teams towards ensuring impeccable customer service through accurate forecasting and effective inventory management
Areas of Responsibility
Strategic (Frequency: 6 months)
Provide long term forecasts for annual budgets and long range planning
Support identified CTS improvement initiatives for products across portfolios
Perform market analysis leveraging IMS data, customer contracts etc.
Revise FG inventory norms and take sign off from business head
Coordinate with sales and marketing team and distribution team to capture voice of customer and monitor customer service levels
Plan and execute initiatives / interventions based on customer feedback to enhance customer satisfaction
Collaborate with the Global Supply Planning team & Central Supply Planners for DF Global Plants for long range capacity planning for respective plants
Operational (Frequency: Monthly)
Create base forecast based on statistical sales data (primary & secondary) and market intelligence
Facilitate bottom up forecasts creation
Discuss base forecast and bottom up forecasts with sales & marketing team and develop consensus forecast
Upload consensus forecast in system and share with Supply Planning Team
Maintain hygiene and integrity of master data (inventory norms, transit lead time, outdated forecasts / orders, potential expiry / expired stock, unwanted sales orders / open deliveries, NPL indicators)
Review production plans prepared by supply planners by assessing impact on FG inventory across the pipeline
Share inputs on fine-tuning the production plans based on prioritization among SKUs
Represent the respective portfolio from a demand planning perspective in the pre-S&OP and S&OP fora
Escalate cases of sudden additional/reduction in demand with back-up analysis to the demand & distribution planning head
Monitor FG inventory across the pipeline (market warehouse, in-transit & plant) and fine-tune their FG inventory norms every 6 months
Monitor slow and non-moving inventory and drive initiative to liquidate the same with respective sales teams
Review monthly and weekly dispatch plans shared by dispatch teams
Track dispatches from the warehouse and suggest change in mode as required
Share market-relevant inputs to IMPULSE team and co-ordinate demand side activities for new product launches
Participate in monthly IMPULSE NPL meetings and drive key actions identified to ensure smooth transition of new products to stable commercial products
Deliver on key supply chain metrics (Customer OTIF, Forecast Accuracy, Pending order, FG inventory, Air : Sea ratio, FG inventory write-off) and drive improvements based on root cause analysis

Education and Job Qualification
Masters (MBA, MS) degree in Operations Management, BE in Mechanical/Production engineering/B. Pharm/M. Pharm
Experience
5-7 years of experience with 3-4 years in demand planning and inventory management
Holding mid-management in at least 1 area (and having exposure to at least 2 areas) out of:
Demand Planning
Supply Planning
Sales & Marketing
