Key responsibilities:

BAU Network Operations

• Oversee day-to-day operations of core network infrastructure: LAN (core and distribution), WiFi, WAN, firewalls, proxy, VPN, etc.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for network incidents, ensuring timely resolution in line with SLAs.
• Perform regular network health checks, patching, and firmware upgrades for switches, firewalls, WiFi controllers, and other devices.

Design & Architecture

• Engage with internal stakeholders (e.g., plant teams, R&D) to understand LAN/WiFi requirements; design appropriate network architecture and bill-of-material (BOM).
• Work with OEMs and partners to propose, assess, and select hardware for firewalls, switches, access points, etc.
• Review and validate firewall designs, IPS/IDS signature sets, and security policies.

Security & Compliance

• Conduct regular reviews of IPS/IDS signatures and firewall rules to ensure security posture and efficacy.
• Collaborate with security teams to design and enforce segmentation, access control, and network hardening.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory network security standards.

Contract & Partner Management

• Manage relationships with vendors / OEMs for procurement, design reviews, and technology proposals.
• Oversee AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) renewals for network, WiFi, and firewall infrastructure.
• Track and manage public IP address allocation, APNIC domain renewals, and related documentation.

Capacity & Performance Management

• Monitor utilization of links (WAN, Internet) and device performance to forecast growth and capacity needs.
• Analyze performance trends and recommend optimizations, upgrades, or redundancy improvements.
• Generate performance and health reports; drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Change Management / Project Work

• Lead and coordinate network change requests, including major reconfigurations, device replacements, and new site roll-outs.
• Prepare detailed network change documents, as-built diagrams, and transition plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful project implementation (e.g., data center expansions, site launches).

Knowledge Management & Documentation

• Maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, configuration backups, device inventory, BOM, IP allocations, firewall policies.
• Create and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for BAU operations, incident handling, and network provisioning.
• Mentor or coach junior network staff, sharing domain expertise and best practices.

Incident Management & Vendor Escalation

• Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) for repeated or high-severity network incidents.
• Escalate to OEM / vendor teams when hardware or software issues cannot be resolved in-house.
• Liaise with service providers (ISPs) for link-related faults, upgrades, or performance issues.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline

Experience: 8+ years in enterprise networking operations, with strong hands-on experience in LAN, WAN, WiFi, firewalls, VPNs, and security.
