Position Summary

This role is responsible for managing and recording the company’s financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements, and assisting in budgeting and auditing processes.

  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure consistency with general ledger balances
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial periods, coordinating with other departments as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing data and analysis to support decision-making
  • Monitor budget performance, identifying variances and suggesting corrective actions as necessary
  • Support financial planning activities, including cost analysis and profitability assessments
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting and taxation
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory filings
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions
  • Manage the processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment runs, ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers
  • Monitor accounts receivable, following up on outstanding invoices and coordinating with customers to resolve payment issues
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions related to accounts payable and receivable
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems, enhancing efficiency and accuracy
  • Participate in the implementation of new accounting software or tools, providing input on best practices and requirements
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends, ensuring the company’s accounting practices remain compliant and effective

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) are highly desirable
