Job Decsription:
Role and Responsibilities
- Core scientific member of cross-functional Nutritional franchise team and a Nutrition area expert, responsible for scientific foundation of Nutrition Therapeutic Area (NTA) scientific strategy
- Product pipeline champion with an ability to identify unmet needs through active stakeholder interactions and actively contribute in the new product ideation and development of differentiated products
- Conceptualization and project management of wide range of medical activities (including research, publications, medical education, patient education programs, advisory board meetings, marketing and sales training, preparation of claim documents, claim dossier for FSSAI filing etc.) that are aligned to the NTA scientific strategy
- Engagement of identified key thought leaders through scientific activities, in alignment with the overall strategic plan
- Responsible to ensure optimal execution of nutrition specific scientific strategic plan including but not limited to medical education, disease education, product education, medical evidence generation, advisory boards, preparation of claims document and help preparing regulatory dossier for FSSAI applications
- A therapeutic area scientific expert, responsible for discussing the scientific data pertaining to products on proactive and reactive basis, patients’ treatment trends and studies in the Nutrition/Cosmetic specific therapeutic areas in which the Company is involved, with defined audience of leading specialists (Physicians, Nutritionists, Dieticians, Pharmacists, retail chains, Hospital Managers, Board Members of Scientific Societies, and other Stakeholders) and to be considered a trusted scientific counterpart
- Responsible for devising optimal training plan to ensure flow of latest medical and scientific developments is provided to sales & marketing team
- Jointly responsible with help of concerned therapy area Medical Advisor to support optimal patient outcomes through communication of data, information, knowledge and insights in support of healthcare professional needs and organizational goals
- Representing the organization in various internal & external scientific platforms
- Ability to convert insights on health/disease trends and supplement/management patterns from key subject matter experts into viable and formidable strategic plans to shape the therapeutic areas of interest
- Collaborating with thought leaders to conduct therapy specific clinical studies, systemic reviews, meta-analysis, case studies, case series, patient reported outcomes and publish them in journals of repute
- Receiving and processing scientific information requests received from sales teams/channel partners/retail counters/consumers/physicians
- Ability to handle complex questions from health care professionals related to Sun Pharma Nutrition products or disease area to satisfaction
- Ensure that all activities in the NTA are conducted in alignment to Sun Pharma’s (Code of Business Ethics) Policy and compliance guidelines
- Responsible for ensuring that all promotional, physician and consumer/patient education materials are approved within stipulated timelines and in alignment with Sun Pharma Promotional Material approval policy, UCPMP Code, FSSAI regulations and Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940 and NDCT 2019
Background:
- Upto 12 years’ experience as clinical nutritionist
- Experience in a food or consumer industry essential
- Experience in new product ideation and development preferred
- Strong academic record with deep knowledge of the therapeutic area, strength in research with knowledge of research methodologies and interpretation of medical data
- Strategic mindset with scientific acumen and communication skills in order to be accepted by leading specialists in peer-to-peer relationship is essential
- Must be well versed with FSSAI regulations and Drugs and Cosmetic Act regulations pertaining to clinical trials and new drug/nutritional product approvals and claims
- Training in medical writing, clinical trial methodologies, research design and ICH – GCP will be added advantage
- Experience with complex business environments preferred
- Strong track record of success as demonstrated through annual performance ratings and/or professional accomplishments and awards

The role is majority office based but will involve extensive leading thought leader interactions with an average 5 to 6 days of field visits. Occasionally, it requires work on weekends or travel in case of planned medical events.
