Job Purpose

Global Head of Projects will oversee all engineering projects activities globally. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the planning , execution and completion of various engineering projects while ensure adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement engineering project strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize operational performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize engineering projects aligned with business objectives and strategic initiatives
  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of green field and brown field pharmaceutical manufacturing projects ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
  • Drive innovation and technological advancement within engineering department evaluating new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiencies and productivity
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to projects team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, development and high performance.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess projects department performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards, regulations, and advancements in pharmaceutical manufacturing to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage capital projects, budgets, and timeline effectively

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Engineering. Project management certification (e.g. PMP, Prince2) is an added advantage
  • 15 + years of experience in engineering functions.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities, as well as regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, cGMP)
  • Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from conception to completion, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource management
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as Agile, Waterfall and Lean Six Sigma, and experience implementing these methodologies in complex engineering projects
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior management and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to identify project risks and issues, develop solutions, and make data- driven decisions to ensure project success
  • Experience managing capital projects including facility expansions, equipment installations and process improvements
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs
