What will you do?

We are seeking a seasoned SAP FICO leader to drive enterprise-wide finance digital transformation initiatives across global operations. This role will act as a strategic partner to the CFO office, owning SAP FI & CO design, implementation, optimization, and support across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes in a regulated (GxP) environment.   The role requires deep functional expertise, strong leadership capability, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable SAP solutions across multi-country operations.

Areas Of Responsibility:

Strategic Planning & Execution

• Lead end-to-end implementation, rollout, and support of SAP FI & CO modules for SUN Pharma entities operating on SAP ECC and S/4HANA, including third-party system integrations.
• Act as a key contributor to the finance digital transformation journey, driving automation, process efficiency, and adoption of modern finance tools.
• Partner closely with the CFO office and senior finance leadership to align SAP solutions with business strategy.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process standardization, simplification, and system optimization.

SAP FICO Leadership & Delivery

• Perform detailed analysis of complex business requirements and translate them into robust SAP FICO solutions.
• Facilitate business requirement workshops with finance stakeholders across geographies.
• Design, customize, configure, and test SAP FI & CO modules including:
  • Financial Accounting
  • Controlling & Costing
  • Budgeting, Pricing, Valuation, and Postings
• Identify gaps, define workarounds, and recommend best-practice solutions.
• Lead change management, emergency transports, and high-priority issue resolution.
• Ensure high-quality documentation including functional specifications, test cases, and deployment results.

Stakeholder & Team Engagement

• Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams.
• Provide consulting support for both new implementations and ongoing support projects.
• Deliver user training, knowledge transfer, and ad-hoc functional support.
• Mentor and guide junior team members as a subject matter expert (SME).
• Work independently while collaborating effectively in a global, matrix environment.

Educational Qualification:

• Chartered Accountant – Mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration
• MBA (Finance / Systems) – Preferred
• SAP FICO Certification – Added advantage

Experience and Skills:

• 12+ years of experience in SAP FICO with 10+ years in full lifecycle SAP implementations and support projects
• Minimum 5 years in a lead role managing SAP FI/CO and business partnering with CFO office
• Hands-on experience in both SAP ECC and S/4HANA
• Strong expertise in designing and configuring SAP FI & CO
• Deep understanding of integration points with MM, SD, PP, and other SAP modules
• Experience working in GxP-regulated / Pharma or Process Industry environments
• Experience in multi-country implementations (operations across 5–6+ countries outside Asia)
• Proven track record of leading finance digital initiatives to closure
• Exposure to automation, newer finance tools, and innovation programs
