Job Summary

Independently drive SC strategy and initiatives for Formulations exports and API to regulated and non-regulated markets across the globe. Drive key strategy initiatives such as cost & process optimization, planning, introduction of new initiatives, reduction in lead times, cold chain maintenance and also develop new capabilities to improve supply chain performance.

Areas Of Responsibility

• Heading Export Logistics for DF shipments to countries - USA, Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and EM.

• Cost optimization through negotiations with forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, transporters and other service providers. Negotiating rate contracts for long term rate stability.

• Freight reduction across markets while improving service

• Drive sustainability initiatives in the area of export logistics

• Vendor management - maintain effective relations with vendors, introduction of new vendors, vendor payments.

• Team development through delegation, training, succession planning.

• Ensuring compliant and complaint-free export documentation.

• Effective interaction with Sun Pharma entities abroad including intervention in sensitive issues.

• Effective interaction with Sun Pharma plants for smooth dispatch, lead time and documentation and any other issues.

• Monitoring and executing third party shipments for SPII-USA such as Alembic, Gland Pharma, Sidmak Labs etc.

• Monitoring and executing shipments for Purchase Department to SPII-USA such as raw material, intermediates etc.

• Monitoring cold chain and validation and execution of new cold chain strategies in order to ensure minimum temperature deviations.

• Monitoring execution and dispatch of R&D, samples, clinical trial shipments.

• Advice and guidance to Business Development, R&D, Packing Development, Purchase etc., on International Logistics related issues.

• A competent professional with 15+ years of experience in Shipping Operations, Logistics, Export & Import Operations and Client Relationship Management.
• Expertise in controlling shipping operation; skilled in managing operations ensuring timely delivery to the customers
• A strategic planner with expertise in implementing cost saving measures to achieve reduction in terms of logistics & transportation cost
• Experience in addressing operational issues, resolving performance bottlenecks and achieving desired objectives
• Proven abilities in third party logistics management.
• Efficient organizer, motivator, team player and a decisive leader with the ability to motivate teams to excel and win
