 Key Responsibilities

1. Boiler & Steam Plant Operations

• Lead and oversee boiler operations across all various Sites & plants, including steam generation, steam distribution, pressure reducing stations, and condensate recovery systems.
• Monitor and optimize boiler performance parameters (pressure, temperature, combustion efficiency, fuel-air ratio, steam quality, fuel consumption, and blowdown control).

2. Data‑Driven Optimization

• Gather and analyse boiler and steam system data from all sites to identify performance gaps, reliability issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Implement data-backed process enhancements for efficiency, uptime, and energy savings.

3. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure 100% compliance with Boiler Act, Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR), factory rules, environmental laws, and USFDA/WHO GMP requirements.
• Ensure all boiler operators are trained, certified, and competent per statutory norms and site SOPs.

4. Maintenance & Reliability Management

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for:

• • Boilers (AFBC, DAFBC, HSD/LDO/Gas fired, etc.)
  • Feed-water treating equipment, deaerators, softeners/DM/RO systems
  • Steam traps, PRVs, headers, and condensate return lines

• Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for boiler trips, steam pressure fluctuations, tube failures, feed water issues, and combustion-related problems.

5. Digitalization & Automation

• Drive implementation of:

• • Online boiler monitoring dashboards
  • Data logging systems
  • Alarm management
  • Combustion control automation
  • Remote energy monitoring systems

• Use digital tools for predictive maintenance and performance optimization.

6. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Prepare and control CAPEX/OPEX budgets related to boilers, steam distribution, water treatment, emission controls, and energy efficiency projects.
• Optimize operating costs including fuel usage, water consumption, chemicals, and spares.

7. Vendor, Contractor & Fuel Management

• Manage boiler OEMs, AMC vendors, fuel suppliers (gas, biomass, FO/HSD), and steam system contractors.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and timely execution of all external work.

8. Audits, Inspections & Documentation

• Support internal/external audits, statutory inspections, IBR tests, safety audits, and regulatory reviews.
• Maintain documentation for:

• • Calibration records
  • Boiler logs & daily reports
  • Emission and energy data
  • Maintenance history
  • SOP and compliance records

9. Team Leadership & Skill Development

• Lead and mentor boiler/utility manpower across sites.
• Build capability through continuous training on boiler operations, safety, combustion systems, and emergency response.

10. Safety, Environment & 5S Compliance

• Implement safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and enforce LOTO, PPE, and emergency procedures.
• Ensure environmental compliance for emissions (NOx, SOx, SPM), effluent, and waste handling from boiler operations.
• Ensure strict housekeeping and 5S practices in all boiler houses.

11. Energy Management

• Lead energy conservation initiatives related to steam systems, including fuel optimization, condensate recovery improvement, insulation enhancements, and blowdown heat recovery.
• Implement and maintain EnMS practices as per ISO 50001:2018 standards.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute is mandatory. - Master's Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related specialization will be an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum -18+ Years proven track record in managing large-scale boiler operations, including high-pressure (HP) and low-pressure (LP) systems.
