Overall responsibility and accountability for the Manufacturing including Production, Engineering, Ware house and all support functions across location. Which will include conducting operations review, drive compliance to all regulatory & statutory requirements and demonstrate Sun Pharma values and improvement /Corporate initiatives, policies at the site with a focus on compliance to environmental standards with the objective of achieving the business target and building potential for sustained revenue growth.
Areas of Responsibility
Overall responsibility for manufacturing activities across location.
Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market.
Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
Take ownership of the manufacturing policy, guidelines and any associated documents.
Initiate and develop creative and innovative manufacturing processes.
Conduct timely Review meetings like Back Order, Demand vs Commit vs Supply and ensure meeting set out targets and to improve the plant volume
Achieve Annual Work Plan of the plant with adherence to cost.
Control and review Quality related systems, processes to adhere to the regulatory requirement.
Monitor timely delivery of products as per Organizational mandates.
Provide Site switch and support R&D for commercial scale up batches and new product launches.
Ensure continuous higher levels of productivity, manufacturing yields & by optimizing the available resources.
Plan and coordinate all activities leading to timely delivery of new product launches and site transfers.
Ensure maintenance and up-keep of production, support systems and facility.
Develop and maintain high level of morale and motivation amongst employees, capacity building and maintain disciplined workforce at plant.
Conceive plan and implement capital expenditure proposals as sanctioned for capacity up-gradation and other routine activities within stipulated time and cost.
Ensure regulatory compliances and to oversee the execution of self-inspection and other inspections.
Maintain all time preparedness for Regulatory Audit/Inspections.
Establish & ensure the cGMP requirements for Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP) manufacturing.
Monitor environment, health and safety and ensure all EHS compliances.
Coordinate team activities to optimize cost performance of the plant through capital investment programs, optimizing operating working capital usage and minimizing waste through the development of a continuous improvement culture encompassing lean principles and clear strategic development
Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
Establish strategy and best practices for staff to ensure achievement of overall business objectives. Work with the Manufacturing team to translate site strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPIs, and to track them.
Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements.
Responsible for developing the appropriate organizational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives and deliverables.

Experience of leading API Plant with overall 20 years of industry experience
Demonstrable experience of leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in strategic manufacturing leadership delivering effective manufacturing strategies, policies, processes and systems.

Proven project management and build quality experience.
Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
Knowledge and technical understanding of manufacturing.
