Health Systems Director - East Region (Field Based)
Summary:
The Health Systems Director is a key leadership position within Sun’s Commercial business. This role will be responsible for strategically leading a regional team dedicated to supporting the Nation’s leading IDN’s. The position is responsible for Strategic Planning and Tactical Sales Execution directed toward the Oncology, Immunology, and Dermatology therapeutic departments as well as the administrative, Pharmacy, and C-Suite groups. In addition, they will be responsible for developing strategies to drive Sun brand performance across Hospital & Channel accounts (IDNs, standalone hospitals, and organized customer accounts). Collaborate with cross-functional brand team and critical business partners to develop and execute national sales and marketing strategies and tactics for the portfolio to exceed revenue expectations across brands. This position is a field based position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a firm grasp of industry trends, understand market conditions, and develop strategies to stay ahead of the competition. They will capitalize on opportunities within the dynamic marketplace. This role will make the customer central to all thinking for self and the team. Works with Marketing / Brand teams and strategic partners to develop a plan of action that optimizes promotional impact and takes advantage of current and future market opportunities.
- Work to translate brand strategies into actionable tactics for the health system managers and develop standards across regions to measure success. They will work with Commercial Sales leadership and key field business partners / home office partners to develop regional field business plans that will meet or exceed brand objectives.
- Collaborate with business partners to develop an overarching health system strategy, communicate and set account objectives, and develop Management by Objective (MBO) goals and a sales incentive plan. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure comprehensive organizational approach to account management.
- Deliver business results through alignment with brand strategies and in accordance with SUN Compliance guidelines. They will analyze sales and operations data to monitor sales progress and develop corrective plans to improve sales force effectiveness/efficiency. The role will analyze financial metrics of sales organization effectiveness, including budgeting, allocation/deployment of resources, return on investment strategies, etc.

- Drive mastery of requisite skills (business, selling skills, account management, therapeutic understanding, etc.) of the sales organization by partnering with Sales Training by identifying key areas for development and developing an appropriate curriculum. It will provide leadership for field management to ensure the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse pool of talent at all levels of sales management.
- Position will appropriately support complex business conversations around ASP, Buy and Bill process, Class of trade, and contracting where applicable.
- Ensure field force has completed appropriate training to ensure compliance to Sun training standards.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Required, Higher Education preferred, I.E. MBA
- Extensive health care or related experience required.
- Minimum 10 years of diverse cross-functional experience in key Commercial/Sales Leadership roles (ex. Sales, Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Payer/Access experience, Analytics, International experience, NBD) including at least four years Marketing and/or Strategic Marketing experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of direct people management/leadership experience, including prior experience leading management level teams; Proven ability to lead, develop, coach and engage and inspire high performing, diverse teams.
- Experience working in Integrated Delivery Networks/Health Systems, Institutions, GPOs, and/or Government/Federal accounts.
- Very strong demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated a high level of commercial capabilities and track record of success in prior commercial roles. Ability to maximize business opportunities and insights. Strong ability to innovate, collaborate, and deliver results.
Preferences:
- Prior experience in Sales as either a professional sales representative, District Manager, or Regional Business Director strongly preferred.
- Account management experience is strongly preferred.
- Pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred.
- Oncology and Immunology experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated capabilities and traits for career path versatility to progress to other key roles.
The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $161,500 to $291,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of IC Commission Plan and may be eligible for the Receipt of Company Vehicle. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
