Manage and administer contracts terms and conditions, contract bid and award processing and the monitoring of contract compliance.  Supervise pricing and related pricing information of new and existing product structure for the company.  Manage the contract and pricing process, including the development and management of national and IDN contract price strategies to maximize revenue growth and market penetration for various channels of hospital distribution including GPOs and IDNs.

 

Responsible to lead and coach the department’s employees to successfully process and administer all contracts and bids for commercial product sale specifically to meet the department and company goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review, approve, and execute customer pricing strategies and rebate structures.  Work with the business and legal teams on contract term updates.
  • Provide expertise in preparing competitive bids and create responses to RFIs and RFPs.  Ensure the processing of all contractual obligations in accordance with agreed upon terms and conditions.
  • Monitor market conditions, focusing on price competitiveness and supply issues.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and touch points between field sales associates and corporate office
  • Monitor pricing based on competition, market share, utilization, costs and putting forward recommendation for price adjustments where warranted.
  • Complete ad-hoc analyses and projects per Management’s request.  Review and address interdepartmental requests for product or customer contract information.
  • Work closely with internal team on contract management system; Supervise departmental functions associated with bids/offers to Customers, including terms and conditions, contract awards, and procedures to ensure internal notifications are received by appropriate personnel.
  • Provides proactive and in-depth financial analysis of product or market-specific business activity.
  • Analyze historical sales trends, IMS prescription trends, market intelligence, and other pertinent information to formulate and analyze pricing strategies to maximize revenue
  • Working in conjunction with Sales team follow-up with all customers after bid submission to insure the customer has received the bid, understands the offer and to determine the company’s competitive position.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Preferred business knowledge of the generic pharmaceutical industry, customers, competitors, industry regulation, corporate policies, distribution, sales and national accounts, marketing, and finance practices.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships, and foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of market trends, customer needs, financial data and competitive intelligence
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint

 

Education or Equivalent:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience.

 

  • Experience:  Generic Pharmaceutical Industry experience preferred
