Key Responsibilities
- Drive EHS Culture Excellence
Develop, strengthen, and sustain a proactive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) culture across the site through employee engagement initiatives, awareness programs, leadership involvement, and active management support. - Enhance EHS Awareness and Capability Building
Design and conduct EHS training programs for employees and contractors, promote best practices, and implement innovative initiatives to improve safety, health, and environmental awareness throughout the organization. - Regulatory Compliance Management
Advise and support the Factory Manager and the site in ensuring compliance with the Factories Act, environmental regulations, and all other applicable statutory requirements related to health, safety, and environmental management. - Implementation of Corporate EHS Standards
Partner with the Factory Manager and functional leaders to effectively implement and sustain corporate EHS policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines across the site. - Operational Safety Oversight
Ensure adherence to all safety requirements on a day-to-day basis, monitor compliance through inspections and audits, work permits and provide support to the Site/Location Head during emergency situations and crisis management. - Safety Committee Coordination
Organize and facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings, track action items, and ensure timely implementation and closure of identified improvements and corrective actions. - Incident Investigation and Corrective Actions
Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to identify root causes and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). - Environmental Compliance and Effluent Management
Ensure proper operation and performance of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and compliance with applicable environmental regulations. Monitor treated effluent quality to consistently meet standards prescribed by the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB). - Hazardous Waste Management
Ensure safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with statutory requirements and corporate standards. - EHS Management Systems
Maintain and continuously improve Environmental, Health & Safety Management Systems in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, including audits, reviews, and certification activities. - EHS Budgeting and Resource Management
Prepare and manage the annual EHS Operating Expenditure (OpEx) and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) budgets, ensuring effective utilization of resources and timely execution of approved projects. - Government and Regulatory Liaison
Maintain effective relationships and regular coordination with regulatory authorities, including the DISH Officials, SPCB officials, Fire Officials, Underground Water Authority and other statutory bodies, to ensure compliance and facilitate regulatory approvals and inspections. - Risk Assessment and Continuous Improvement
Lead risk assessment programs, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive initiatives aimed at achieving world-class EHS performance and operational excellence. - Contractor Safety Management
Establish and monitor contractor safety management systems to ensure compliance with site safety requirements and safe execution of all contracted activities. - Emergency Preparedness and Response
Develop, maintain, and periodically test emergency response plans, conduct mock drills, and ensure preparedness for fire, chemical, medical, and environmental emergencies.
Experience: 18+ years’ experience
Education: B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences | Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety
