Job Purpose
Global Head of Engineering & Energy Consumption will oversee all engineering maintenance activities globally as well as lead our energy management efforts within the organization. The role is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity, developing and implementing strategies to optimize energy consumption, reduce environmental impact and enhance operational sustainability across our facilities.


Key Accountabilities
 

  • Lead and Manage the engineering department, develop and implement engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize operational performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, and facilities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices to ensure ZERO downtime. Oversee repair, and calibration of manufacturing equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, development and high performance. Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess engineering department performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards, regulations, and advancements in pharmaceutical engineering to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive energy management strategies and initiatives to optimize energy consumption, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact across pharmaceutical facilities.
  • Conduct energy audits and assessments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and develop action plans to implement energy saving measures.
  • Monitor and analyse energy consumption data, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address energy usage inefficiencies.

Qualifications And Experience
 

  • Bachelors in Engineering. Any course on Energy management/ Environmental Science would be an added advantage
  • 15 + years of experience in engineering functions.
  • Familiarity with energy related regulations, standards and certifications and experience ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities, as well as regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, cGMP)
  • Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion

Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior management and external stakeholders
