Responsibilities

1. Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of sterile manufacturing and packing equipment.
2. Attend equipment breakdowns promptly, identify root causes, and restore equipment with minimum production downtime.
3. Support maintenance of equipment such as filling and sealing machines, vial or ampoule washing machines, autoclaves, sterilizing tunnels, lyophilizers, visual inspection machines, packing equipment, and associated utilities, as applicable.
4. Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities according to approved schedules, SOPs, and cGMP requirements.
5. Support equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and qualification activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
6. Prepare and maintain engineering documents such as equipment history cards, preventive maintenance checklists, breakdown records, logbooks, qualification protocols, and reports.
7. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Validation, EHS, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
8. Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing, troubleshooting, spare parts, and technical support.
9. Ensure the availability of critical spare parts and support inventory monitoring, procurement, and consumption control.
10. Handle engineering-related QMS activities, including deviations, CAPA, change controls, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and risk assessments.
11. Analyse recurring breakdowns and equipment-performance issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
12. Ensure compliance with cGMP, Good Documentation Practices, data integrity, regulatory requirements, electrical and mechanical safety, and permit-to-work procedures.
13. Support calibration, validation, and requalification activities and ensure completion within established timelines.
14. Monitor equipment downtime, maintenance costs, spare consumption, and maintenance KPIs.
15. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by ensuring equipment and documentation remain audit-ready.
16. Drive improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, energy efficiency, safety, and operational performance.
17. Participate in Kaizen, 5S, cost-saving, energy-conservation, and operational excellence initiatives.
18. Ensure proper shift handover and communicate equipment status, pending maintenance activities, breakdowns, and critical observations.
