Key responsibilities:

The Civil Engineer (Officer level) is responsible for planning, execution, and maintenance of civil and structural activities within the OSD pharmaceutical facility. The role ensures compliance with GMP, regulatory standards, and supports plant operations by maintaining infrastructure integrity and new project execution.

A. Project Execution & Facility Development

- Execute civil projects such as building modification, expansion, and new construction within plant premises.

- Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, technical specifications, documents for government approval & PR submission, work & bills verification.

- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants for timely project completion.

- Ensure adherence to GMP requirements, cleanroom standards, and regulatory compliance.

B. Maintenance & Upkeep

- Monitor and maintain plant civil infrastructure including manufacturing areas, cleanrooms, warehouses, utilities, and admin buildings.

- Perform routine inspections for structural safety, leakages, cracks, and degradation.

- Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance.

- Plan and execute any civil activity required during machine shifting work.

C. GMP & Compliance

- Ensure civil works comply with cGMP, and internal quality .

- Maintain documentation such as work permits, change control, and deviation handling.

- Support qualification activities for new or modified facility modifications.

D. Contractor & Safety Management

- Supervise contractor activities and ensure quality workmanship.

- Enforce safety practices as per EHS guidelines.

- Verify contractor bills and ensure work completion as per scope.

E. Documentation & Coordination

- Maintain drawings (AutoCAD) and as-built documentation.

- Coordinate with QA, Production, and Engineering, EHS teams.

- Support audits (internal, regulatory, customer).

F. Utility & Facility Support

- Coordinate civil aspects for HVAC areas and cleanroom integrity.

- Ensure proper drainage systems and water management.

- Support utility areas such as boiler and AHU rooms.

G. Qualification & Experience

Education: B.E./B. Tech Civil Engineering

Experience: 7-10  years, preferably in pharmaceutical or regulated industry (OSD exposure preferred)

H. Required Skills

- Knowledge of GMP and cleanroom construction practices

- Understanding of pharma facility layout

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office

- Strong vendor management and communication skills.
