Job purpose
This role will lead Business Analytics and Insights for Canada IM including a team of (3) between Canada IM and the Generic and OTC businesses managing sales operations, sales insights and analytics, sales reporting, market insights and analytics, commercial data management and strategy, and incentive compensation. The position works closely with the Head of Canada IM to ensure strategies, tactical plans, and decisions are based on clear and reliable analytics that leverage multiple data sources to ensure successful commercial execution. He/She is responsible for ensuring long term growth by allocating human and financial resources to optimize the organizational structure, scopes of responsibility and growth opportunities for personnel. The individual collaborates effectively with cross functional team members in Marketing, Sales, Finance, Compliance, HR and Market Access to deliver focused direction, communication and support of the entire commercial customer facing roles.
Duties and responsibilities
- As a strategic thought partner to the Commercial Canada IM Business, contributes to the development of the strategic plan/direction ensuring alignment with brand strategy
- Utilizing a data driven approach to provide insights to the Canada IM Leadership Team in support of current business and future opportunities.
- Prepares with internal team for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and preparation including slide development
- Lead the team for Market Research to ensure primary data helps direct efforts appropriately and that qualitative data is coordinated with quantitative data.
- Lead Sales Operations to develop strategy, planning, direction and development of integrated processes.
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Business Operations, Patient Services, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Operational Leadership) to determine and achieve department company objectives.
- Supports Sales Leadership in development of field communications, special programs such as incentives, and organization of field sales Plan of Action and National Sales Meetings
- Lead the Manager for CRM and sales Incentive Compensation (IC) , including plan design, documentation, and administration and reporting
- Ensure the highest quality of IC calculations and timely plan rollouts and payouts
- Lead CRM Manager to provide relevant analytics and strategic insights to support customer segmentation, sales force effectiveness, and targeting.
- Act as lead on all requested business analyses; monthly, daily, and ad-hoc requests.
- Assist with data ecosystem and associated commercial data requirements
- Forecast brands and the development of KPIs, as part of strategic planning, and day to day operations as well as monitor progress.
- Using epidemiology, market data based, or patient based to forecast; and more importantly when one methodology in better than another.
- Manage vendors and collaborate with US Sun to receive market data, market research, and provide insights to the team improving performance.
- Lead the team on market research projects to fill gaps in knowledge identified during planning and / or operations.
- into categories by prescribing level, for use by sales; analyze and lead the development of patient management policies that improve performance.
- Lead the evaluation, analytics, and go forward decisions for new brands with marketing.
- Lead the teams on new product and indication launch planning analytics and data/market insights
Additional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)
Report any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within 1 business day
Qualifications
- University degree in Marketing, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or MBA is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience leading a commercial operations function and managing teams within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company with demonstrated mastery of analytical responsibilities is required. Specific experience in Biologics (Dermatology /Rheumatology and/or Ophthalmic) is a strong desire.
- Strong and deep understanding of industry data (e.g., Rx, Claims, APLD, SP, PSP data etc.) and effective utilization of data.
- Proven experience in Sales Effectiveness including Sales Incentives is required
- Proven ability to provide strategic leadership, vision and direction within a fast moving, challenging and energetic environment.
- Strong market development skills in order to drive and influence business decisions such as "go to market" strategies and tactics.
- Effective working in a team environment with strong collaboration skills to gain alignment within an organization and optimize partnerships with other functions including Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Decision Support, Information Technology, Legal, Finance and Human Resources.
- Ability to work in a fluid environment with conflicting priorities, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines
- Adept at creating simple solutions to complex problems or issues.
- High level of personable accountability, responsibility and integrity with the ability to set and hold themselves and others to high standards.
- Experience managing direct reports as the role is building a team in the longer-term
- Strong leadership and team building skills with proven ability to coach and develop staff
- Utilizes data and insights to address current needs and future planning, forecasting
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, including experience with Excel based market and financial modeling.
- Strong financial background and partnering with Finance. Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingual (English and French) is an asset
- Excellent Data Handling/Data Analytics ability. Able to lead strategic and portfolio management planning
- Develop data analysis methodologies and provide business insights based on the data analysis.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter who thrives in uncertainty and is willing to do what is needed in order to support the building of the brand.

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $133,500 to $163,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; RRSP savings plan; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
