Job Summary

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the end‑to‑end Procurement (P2P) process across the organization. The role requires strong coordination with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely availability of materials, services, and equipment while maintaining complete compliance with company and global procurement policies. The incumbent will also play a strategic role in optimizing procurement operations, developing sourcing strategies, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of Capex, Opex, services, consumables, spares, and utilities

 

Area Of Responsibility

· Procurement of Capex, Opex & Services
Responsible for purchasing Capex items, Opex requirements, services, and related consumables for production, utility equipment, engineering needs, and any other plant operational requirements.

· Purchase Order Management & OTIF Delivery
Prepare Purchase Orders (POs), release to approved vendors, and coordinate delivery, installation, and commissioning activities. Ensure On‑Time, In‑Full (OTIF) performance for all procurement categories.

· Leveraging Group Synergies
Interact and collaborate with other Sun plants and Head Office teams to identify, share, and adopt best procurement strategies, supplier options, and cost‑saving opportunities.

· Consumption Analysis & Inventory Support
Support plant teams in analysing consumption patterns of consumables and spares. Ensure timely replenishment by planning procurement cycles aligned with usage trends.

· Annual Contracts & Long‑Term Agreements
Create and manage yearly rate contracts, long‑term agreements, open POs, and multi‑vendor arrangements to ensure price stability, supply security, and cost advantages.

· Strategic Procurement Planning
Develop and implement procurement strategies for Capex, Opex, services, spares, equipment, and utilities with a focus on optimizing cost, improving operational efficiency, and supporting business priorities.

· Supplier Qualification & Market Analysis
Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers. Conduct continuous market research, benchmarking, and commercial assessments to support strategic sourcing decisions.

· Vendor Development & Negotiations
Build long-term vendor partnerships while improving supplier performance. Lead negotiations to optimize cost, quality, delivery, service levels, and contractual terms.

· Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
Drive improvements in procurement processes, systems, documentation, and compliance. Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction, process efficiency, and supply chain optimization.

Education and Job Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business / Engineering or above.
  • Preferrable industry background : Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Engineering, FMCG, Utilities, or any manufacturing setup with complex procurement cycles.

 

 

Experience

  • Total Experience: 8–12 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Commercial Operations within a manufacturing or process‑driven industry.
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing end‑to‑end P2P (Procure‑to‑Pay) processes, including PR review, RFQ, negotiation, PO creation, delivery follow‑ups, and invoice coordination.
  • Prior experience handling procurement for Capex, Opex, Services, Consumables, Spares, Utilities, and Engineering equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability in supplier identification, qualification, development, and performance evaluation.
  • Experience managing multi‑vendor environments, long‑term contracts, rate agreements, and open PO’s.
  • Experience in identifying cost‑saving opportunities, redesigning supply strategies, and executing value‑engineering initiatives.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements, convert them into procurement specifications, and align with user needs.
  • Strong analytical skills using Excel / SAP or similar procurement tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement categories simultaneously under tight timelines.

 

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $71,000 to $79,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan.
