Job Summary:

Associate Director, Corporate Communications, Sun North America serves as a key player on the Sun Pharma Global Corporate Communications team and is based in Princeton, New Jersey.

The person is responsible for shaping, executing, and safeguarding the company’s corporate reputation across North America. This role acts as the primary communications advisor and spokesperson for the region, driving integrated external and internal communications strategies that support business objectives, corporate culture, and brand equity.

 

Responsibilities:

Media Relations & External Communications

  • Serve as the North America spokesperson for Sun Pharma.
  • Develop and execute media and communications strategies to build, enhance, and protect Sun Pharma’s reputation in North America.
  • Lead proactive and reactive media engagement, including media outreach, interviews, media briefings, and relationship-building with key journalists and influencers. Manage and collaborate with external PR agencies and freelancers.
  • Organize and support senior leadership media interactions; prepare executives with messaging, talking points, and media training as needed.
  • Provide PR support to the innovative medicines business, including new product launches, clinical data and business development related announcements.

Digital & Social Media

  • Design and execute a North America social media strategy to elevate brand visibility, engagement, and reputation.
  • Develop content for publishing across Sun’s NAM social media platforms.
  • Monitor, moderate, and respond to user-generated content in line with established guidelines.
  • Guide and support internal marketing/brand teams on social media strategy and platform management.
  • Maintain Sun Pharma’s North America website.

Brand Building & Corporate Identity

  • Act as brand custodian for Sun Pharma in North America, ensuring consistent application of corporate branding and messaging.
  • Strengthen the corporate brand through integrated communication tools and platforms, including corporate films, brochures, presentations, and thought leadership materials.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

  • Work with HR to develop and execute a robust internal communications strategy aligned with business priorities and people goals.
  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the CEO, North America, and senior leadership team.
  • Draft executive communications, including speeches, talking points, leadership messages, and company-wide announcements.
  • Drive adoption and engagement on Microsoft Viva Engage (formerly Yammer) through innovative content and campaigns.
  • Plan and execute employee town halls and internal events in partnership with business and HR teams.
  • Collaborate closely with HR to support employee engagement, change management, and culture initiatives.

Crisis & Issues Management

  • Lead communications for issues and crisis situations affecting the company or brands in North America.
  • Anticipate and identify potential reputational risks; maintain crisis communication protocols.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and balanced messaging to mitigate risk and protect corporate reputation across media and digital platforms.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Write clear, impactful communications on complex topics.
  • Aligning internal communications recommendations and tactics to support and drive executive communications programs that underscore the value of the Company through a collective message platform related to company objectives, company culture, milestones and business priorities.
  • Partnering with key internal stakeholders to leverage and coordinate internal/external activities across the organization.
  • This person must have experience in drafting integrated communications approaches across both internal/external audiences, have a creative and solutions-oriented mindset, and an ability to collaborate and adapt to changing dynamics.
  • The ideal candidate is an Experienced Senior Manager in PHARMA, strong writer, has the ability to simplify complex information and is process-minded.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree required in Business, Communications, Journalism, English. MBA preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical experience is strongly encouraged.
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in corporate communications or public relations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight timetables, be open-minded and can adapt to change.
  • Must possess excellent writing skills—both technical and creative/promotional proficiency, highly refined skills of grammar and syntax; ability to adapt writing styles quickly and gracefully.
  • Have the ability to distill complex language from a variety of sources into effective, easy-to-understand, concise messages for a variety of internal and external audiences.

 

The presently-anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $154,500 to $189,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
