Job purpose
The main responsibility of this position is to clean and maintain all warehouse areas.
This position may include some or all following activities:
- Sweeping all warehouse aisles to remove all garbage.
- Remove all wood chips and larger pieces of wood and place in the wood bins.
- Dust all areas where possible.
- Place scrap drums on trailer for disposal.
- Sort skids for production as required.
Duties and responsibilities
- Daily - sweep all aisles in building 132 and 130 and remove garbage as required (in warehouse areas 126, 130, 132).
- Organize all empty drums in the trailer for disposal.
- Semi Weekly - sweep all aisles at building 126.
- Place all full wood waste bins in the scrap skid trailer for disposal.
- Check and empty all cardboard bins as required.
- Weekly – Clean all doors and windows including ledges in building 130 including west dock area.
- Scrub warehouse floors in all aisles in all buildings weekly.
- Monthly - sweep and mop under rack areas at building 130.
- Quarterly - clean all exposed electrical outlets fire extinguishers and window ledges in all warehouses.
- Vacuum or dust all exposed areas of racking in all warehouses.
- Sweep under racks at building 132.
- Place scrap empty drums on trailer for disposal.
- Sort skids for production as required.
- Clean outside dock areas for wood and garbage.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional responsibility (Only applicable to customer facing roles)
Report any adverse event received from customers for company products to the pharmacovigilance department / Drug Safety on the same day or within 1 business day
Qualifications
- Minimum Secondary School / High School Diploma combined with 1 year of experience.
- Valid Ontario Drivers License in good standing is required.
- Prior pharmaceutical environment experience is a strong asset.
- Valid electric Walkie License is an asset.
- Successful candidates must be safety conscious. First Aid/CPR training is an asset.
- Good understanding of GMP concepts and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Good communication (written and verbal) skills combined with good organizational skills.
- Computer literate (Excel, Word).
- Flexibility to work overtime on an as required basis.
- WHMIS training and Transportation of Dangerous Goods training are beneficial.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and to prioritize work load to meet deadlines is essential.
- Ability to cope in a busy working environment is required.
- Ability to work on your own to complete work assignments.
Working conditions
- Warehouse environment (room temperature) plus in and out of Warehouse.
- Exposure to high/low temperatures.
- Occasional exposure to truck fumes, dusty environment and elevated noise levels.
- Extended work hours on an infrequent basis.
Physical requirements
- Mix of standing, walking, bending and lifting containers up to 25Kg and occasional handling of drums of up to 220 kg.
