Our Brampton location is presently looking for a Director, Sales to join our team.
The main responsibility of this position is to manage the performance and profitability of the independent retail accounts and the regional buying groups across Canada. The Director of Sales will be responsible for preparing the strategy and tactics required to achieve annual sales and profitability targets for each region.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership to the Regional Sales Team and Territory Managers
- Work with Commercial team members to arrive at annual sales objectives, goals and tactical activities to achieve agreed upon national sales growth and market share targets
- Analyze, develop and implement a strategic Taro Business Plan in conjunction with the Regional Sales Managers that maximizes sales and profitability for Canada
- Review and align the Business Plan on a quarterly basis to ensure objectives are on target
- Manage sales volume, product mix, and pricing through careful monitoring of market dynamics, economic indicators, customer and competitor behavior to maximize sales and profitability
- Recruit, coach and develop a national sales team that drives Taro growth and performance
- Alert and communicate any evolving provincial or regional trends involving customers, pharmacy associations, and colleges to internal commercial support teams
- Build a network of key customers, influencers and pharmacy stakeholders to foster base and new business opportunities
- Support marketing efforts to build Brand awareness and enhance the companies profile and image with key stakeholders across the country
- Promote personal growth of team members by conducting effective annual evaluations
- Plan and conduct motivating sales meetings that foster learning and enhance skills that improve business acumen and sales results
- Manage fiscal responsibility through thorough oversight on customer spends, territory expenses and operational costs
- Comply with all industry and corporate guidelines related to professionalism and code of conduct
- Participate in Internal, Customer and Regulatory Audits, when required

Background and Experience
- Minimum of a University or College Degree or equivalence in sales experience
- MBA an asset
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in a management capacity
- Bilingual, French and English preferred
- Posses a valid driver’s license in good standing

- Ability to identify customer needs and resolve customer issues in a timely manner
- Creativity in differentiating Taro from its competitors
- Ability to understand competitive activity and use it to build sales opportunities
- Identify skill gaps and create an environment for sales team development and coaching
