Our Brampton location is presently looking for chemist, Quality Control
Job purpose
The main responsibility of this position is to collect IP/bulk/FG samples, log in all received QC samples in the QC Master schedule and issue testing method templates
Duties and responsibilities
- Preparation of testing documentation package: (project check list, sample list, certificate of analysis, testing method templates, testing methods (SOP), labels, samples, placebo, HPLC column, standards)
- Inventory management of laboratory supplies (vials, glassware, syringes, paper, etc)
- Ordering of lab supplies
- Complete all GMP Documentation correctly and in a timely manner
- Complete all training assignments and maintain personal training records
- Participate in Internal, Customer, Regulatory and Safety Audits
- Other duties as assigned
- Assign product code in QC weekly schedule
- Reconciliation and disposal of tested samples
- Collecting and log in QC samples in QC Master Schedule and ELB
- Assigning and labeling received samples with unique ID
- Sort and place the samples in their designated space
- Issue sample list, testing templates, C of A,
- Provides samples and GMP documents for testing
- Issue laboratory log books
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science
- Minimum 1-year experience in Pharmaceutical Laboratory environment preferred
- Ability to apply knowledge of chemistry, math, to complete tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of GMP’s
Working conditions
Generally, fairly pleasant surroundings. Occasional exposure to higher than normal noise levels, frequent exposure to various chemicals used in the testing of raw materials, components and finished products. Occasional exposure to unpleasant odors resulting from testing procedures. Fairly level temperatures. Mixture of standing and walking, some light lifting and/or moving of instruments with the aid of a cart
